Great Scott, it's August tomorrow! We need to go back to June! I just got home for summer and it feels like only days away until Leeds festival, then back to university. Anyone else not ready for summer to end?

This month has been great for my beauty box (we all have a desk drawer or storage box filled with misc products, right?) with Studio 10 sending over their colour correction palette, which I've been using every day and some new Kylie Lip Kits to play with. What I've been really excited to show you are these summer essentials!

Kudos to these guys for getting me through July's mini heatwave, a dry skin spell and bad eyebrow days.

You might have noticed my posts have been slacking a little this week (you can't polish a turd but you can throw a little glitter on it) because I've been prepping so hard for moving out without having a chance to sit down and enjoy a good writing session. I also have two vlogs after this one that I'm yet to publish which kind of sum up those busy days for you.

I wish I could say I'm one of those morning yoga-on-the-beach Instagram girls but in all honesty I'm more of an eating-breakfast-with-my-eyes-closed kind of gal. Before September takes a third year dump on my doorstep, I'm trying to get my body and mind ready for the hard work to come!

It's the time of year where my friends are jetting off to beautiful, cultured countries (or getting off their tidday's in Maga) and while I'm not going anywhere this year there's always a list of a million places I want to be.

This time last year I was craving a city break in New York after watching Breakfast at Tiffany's too many times, but over the last 12 months I've had a more of a hankerin' for South East Asian shorelines and street food.
Here's a list of the places I'd love to be this summer, you should definitely visit if you get the chance!

It can be the most frustrating thing trying your best to help someone while they continue to not help themselves. Having compassion and understanding is one of the many keys to holding connections with people, but these connections aren't always worth the fight. You choose who and what you surround yourself with which should be people that enhance your wellbeing and mental state, not drag it through the mud.

Hello lovely readers! While writing this post I realised that my last real #OOTD was last August, and my, how things have changed since then. For starters, I no longer look like flame princess and I've definitely gained a little but as I made clear in this post, I don't care. So that's good. Also, it's likely that there won't be as many posts this week as I'm packing up boxes ready to start a new chapter in September, but I'll talk more about that in a new post. You might be able to expect a new vlog so keep your eyes peeled just incase!

When I get obsessed with something, I get obsessed- whether thats over an artist's work, blog, outfit, make-up product or an app, I simply fall in love and cannot let go for at least a month or two. This is a good and a bad thing, lemme' tell ya.

As humans with an undeniable ego, we can be so hard on ourselves for not living up to standards. Even when we achieve our goal, we can want to aim higher or feel like we could've done better if we'd just pushed a little more, despite the suffering it took to get there.

I've always been adamant that not succeeding in your first attempt doesn't mean you've failed. To me, not succeeding at your millionth attempt isn't failure either, as long as you gained knowledge or experience.

Even when we succeed by our own definition, we compare ourselves to those 'above' us, who've maybe been in the game longer than we have which lets face it, is ridiculous and unfair! We need to remember that all of these people we admire have been where we are. We all start as a speck on the face of our field and have to progress in our own time to be the best we can. Sort of like being a Pokémon trainer (fyi I haven't been able to put down the damn game since I got it).

I remember reading a poster back in school that said "If you're feeling thirsty, you're already dehydrated." We know that hydration is key to survival. You can survive longer without food than you can without water (picturing myself drinking from coconuts on a desert island, mmmm), but it's a lot easier to forget to hydrate than it is to forget to eat.

Hydrating is also key to good skin and is often confused with moisturising! When your skin is dehydrated it means that your skin lacks water; it will feel less firm, less elastic and not as soft or smooth. When your skin is dry it means that your skin lacks oil, that's where moisturiser steps in.

Hello lovely readers! I've been sitting on this post for a few days now and have edited, cut, chopped it up and almost deleted it a few times. It's been a little while since my last Taboo Talk, (icymi I am now a fully fledged tree hugger) so this is a rare and more serious post than the ushe. Youj? Youje? The usual. *breathes* Bare with me!

There will be a more upbeat and positive post in the next couple of days that I'm excited to share with you! For now, I'm not usually one for over sharing and it's incredibly difficult for me to talk about this still. In fact I usually avoid the subject all together!
Hence why it's super scary for me to post and promote this. I feel that less of us need to be scared of addressing this topic so here goes-

I've decided to sort out a blog schedule, so from now on (all being well) you guys will get an easy-going post on a Sunday. A dedicated time for the not-so-serious topics and a place to share the love!

It seems that this year more than at any point in my life, I've been getting involved on social media, watching people grow while learning things about people and places I never would've seen otherwise. Our beloved internet is saturated in amazing content, so here's some of the blogs and vloggers I've been loving lately.

Whether it's for a big night out or everyday use, I've fallen in love with colour correcting and I'm not even ashamed. About a week ago I showed you guys the new palette I've been obsessing over by Studio 10. Y'know the one with the colour correctors and primer in it. Honestly I feel naked without it on already for one reason. It hides alllllllll my flaws. Colour correction works by using the opposite colour on the colour wheel to neutralise any redness, uneven tone or blue under eye bags you might have.

You can get palettes with a wider range of colours in but this one is simple, and does the trick. Here's what you need to know:

Melissa Deckert and Nicole Licht on Behance
I'm sitting here writing blog posts while my boyfriend plays his computer games on high volume, like we do on most of his days off! It's sometimes thought to be the kiss of death in a relationship, (other than getting your partners name tattooed, grim) moving in with your other half is considered a huge step.

Even us bloggers like to get our hands dirty sometimes. In the hustle and bustle of life, dividing attention between tasks we can forget to take some time out to breathe in the air and actually enjoy it!

Last weekend I headed out with some friends to the rolling hills of Scotland for a much needed breather.

We spent two nights camping in the vast woodland mountains to the side of Loch Lomond, a place I'd not actually heard of until our visit! The weather held up for us despite a few freaking scary flashes of lightening on the first night (do you know how scary it is in a lightening storm when you're the only thing on the side of the hill?)
I managed to snap some photos and a short vlog of the trip- when I say some photos, I mean a lot of photos so prepare yourself! Scroll to the bottom for the vlog and subscribe to my YouTube channel if you like it.

kylie lip kit flatlay
Amidst the lip plumping obsession, King Kylie has taken the reigns with her Lip Kits. Back in April, I tried super hard to get hold of one of her lip kits to see what the hype was about. It took ten minutes for the checkout to load as the site was crashing from overload, but eventually I got through (phew!) and purchased Candy K and two Dolce K's.

Since then I've been on a mission to get all of her popping lip colours (except Posie K. Not a fan of fuchsia) and built up my collection of 22, Candy K, Dolce K, Koko K and Kourt K. They may have the Jenner's name to them, but are Kylie Lip kits worth the hype?
