Boohoo x Village Hotel Espa Experience | #WeAreSS17

Last week Boohoo SO kindly treated north-west bloggers to a couple of hours at the poolside of Village Hotel in Warrington, for relaxation, pampering and prosecco. The last time I visited a spa was when at about 17 years old with my mum in Whinfell Forest (one of my most favourite places for a long weekend away, I'm forever talking about this place and wishing I could go back) so when Boohoo's invited popped up in my e-mails I got so excited!

If you read my last post you'll know that the past couple of weeks have been super stressful. I've been working my lil' butt off on a few different projects, so this was just the thing I needed to destress and set me up for a more relaxing weekend.

Lush Northern Lights Bathbomb Set

To be a glittery goddess one must first bathe like a glittery goddess! I was given the Northern Lights bath bomb set for Christmas by my boyfriend's sister, Emily (thank you again Em!) and thought it would be rude to not show you guys how insanely gorgeous they are. They really smell as heavenly as they look. The set is made of three bath bombs; Northern Lights, Shoot for the Stars and Intergalactic. Shoot for the Stars and Intergalactic both have body glitter in them that sits on top of the water like stars.

Favourite Skincare Duo for Cleansing & Nourishing

Skincare is becoming increasingly more vital in my daily routine, especially since around this post in July (nothing to do with the post, simply a marker I can explain) I’ve had really bad dry skin around my eyes which I can only assume is eczema or psoriasis. Kill meeeeee. Winter slays my skin without having a condition on top of it haha. Do any of you have eczema or psoriasis? How do you deal with it?

But this is what I really wanted to talk about; since making the switch to only purchasing cruelty free products I’ve discovered SO many new brands I hadn’t even heard of before, one being Odylique.

Lush Elbow Grease Moisturising Bar Review 💦 Before/Afters

So it's now September. Can you believe it?! What the ACTUAL HELL. Yesterday it was June and I was camping in Scotland, right?

Despite nights drawing in, the damage from summer sun is long lasting- well into the cold winter nights I've been longing for. Our sun is renowned for blessing us with that glowing, healthy looking tan (or in my case, the only way I'll tan is if all of my freckles join together), but damages your skin in the process.

Thailand Spa in Your Own Home | Janjira Loves 🌴🌺*

It used to be a bit of a tradition that when going away with family, mum and I would spend some time relaxing in the closest spa. Picture us soaking up quartz, salt and greek herbs in turkish and Japanese steam rooms, napping on water beds in borrowed robes and dipping in the mineral pool under the stars.

This week has been absolutely crazy with travelling to Wales, spending time with my boyfriend's family for the first time and heading back for a few days of hard work before I shoot off to Leeds Festival.

Travelling a lot and being stressed is the perfect way to give me a hella' lot of forehead spots and dry skin never mind leaving me feeling a little tense and in need of some self-love. My days away this week were an absolute dream- the weather in Wales was beautiful and being by the sea felt like a little slice of Greece (or somewhere equally as far away from the UK as possible)!

Skin Care: Hydrating vs Moisturising 💧

I remember reading a poster back in school that said "If you're feeling thirsty, you're already dehydrated." We know that hydration is key to survival. You can survive longer without food than you can without water (picturing myself drinking from coconuts on a desert island, mmmm), but it's a lot easier to forget to hydrate than it is to forget to eat.

Hydrating is also key to good skin and is often confused with moisturising! When your skin is dehydrated it means that your skin lacks water; it will feel less firm, less elastic and not as soft or smooth. When your skin is dry it means that your skin lacks oil, that's where moisturiser steps in.

Rose petals & Relaxation

As you might have read in my previous post, it's been a busy few weeks! There's nothing like a bit of R&R to make you feel yourself again which in this case this was Roses and Relaxation. While at the Retro Rendezvous festival last week (see what I got up to here) I picked up some goodies from the Little Lakeland Soap Co. including this sweet tube of bath salts and rose petals.
