5 Teas to Keep You Warm and Well | Pukka Herbal Collection

On days when the cold outside is biting at my nose and fingers, there's nothing better to warm me up than a cup of tea and a bath. Seriously, I thought it was cold in October but this week I learned that the Halloween chill was nothing compared to the bitterness of January! Luckily I have a kettle on hand, candles and a steaming bathtub full of Lush until I head back to uni.

The other day I visited a temple with my family (so beautiful, I might have to write a post on it) and around the deity statues and prayer bowls were offerings of organic food and drinks. These teas were scattered around and I've actually tried them before but since then, Pukka have renewed their range a little and there are some brews in here that I've not even heard of! The whole box was £2.50, containing 20 bags of 5 different gorgeous tea blends and infusions.

Important Mantras to Take Into 2017

At this time of year, naturally I think a lot of us do a little 'soul searching'. December is a time when a people begin to reflect on the past year; on where we are and where we want to be, where we were at the beginning of this year and where we're ending it, who we're ending it with. Seriously, how did we get here 2016? It's been a hell'uva ride.

I've been doing a little 'soul-searching' myself lately, leading to the blatantly obvious connection that everything I have ever done has got me to where I am today, (neither entirely good nor entirely bad! ) hooray me. It means that all of the tiniest decisions I have ever struck a match to have landed me here, writing to you from my bed on a Sunday night. But I've been asking myself where I want to be this time next year and instead of sitting on my ass and saying I will (a common behaviour for me this year, oops) I've been connecting those thoughts and ideas into ways that will actually get me there.

Skin Care: Hydrating vs Moisturising 💧

I remember reading a poster back in school that said "If you're feeling thirsty, you're already dehydrated." We know that hydration is key to survival. You can survive longer without food than you can without water (picturing myself drinking from coconuts on a desert island, mmmm), but it's a lot easier to forget to hydrate than it is to forget to eat.

Hydrating is also key to good skin and is often confused with moisturising! When your skin is dehydrated it means that your skin lacks water; it will feel less firm, less elastic and not as soft or smooth. When your skin is dry it means that your skin lacks oil, that's where moisturiser steps in.
